Join the Irresistible Resistance by printing your own environmental justice-themed poster at the New York iteration of the Parsons Paris "You Are Here" exhibition!

The "You Are Here" student show in Paris was created to provide the community with the means to voice its opinions about the COP21 Climate Conference, and more specifically, for the students to express their doubts as to the ability of the conference and its political framework to foster and implement actual change.

The Tishman Environment and Design Center brings a second iteration of "You Are Here" to New York City as a part of Earth Week 2016 at The New School and The Irresistible Resistance symposium, showcasing the role of artists, designers, and young people at the very heart of the struggle for resistance and resilience.

Participants are invited to visit the lobby of the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center to pick up some of the posters as they are, featuring phrases that address issues of enviromental justice or intervene on them using the RISO machine – very much like a photocopier. By placing various elements of their choice onto the RISO glass – blank shapes, press clippings, packaging, leaflets, photographs – participants can create an additional layer that will be superimposed onto the existing one that bears the sentences.

This event is sponsored by the Tishman Environment and Design Center and Parsons School of Design School of Art Media and Technology, and is part of Earth Week at The New School.
