Worldly World Orders: Building on the legacy of L.H.M Ling

Starr Foundation Hall, Room UL102, University Center
General Public

India China Institute and GPIA will host a half-day symposium to honor the intellectual contributions of Professor L.H.M Ling to Critical International Relations Theory.

Professor Ling was a path-breaking scholar, and her work will remain essential to engaging critically with the epistemological assumptions of International Relations and reimagining the shape of identities outside of the confines of the Westphalian state. Her work was instrumental in accommodating marginalized identities into mainstream theoretical discourses. Likewise, Professor Ling was a pioneer of post-colonial and feminist approaches. In 2018, she was honored as Eminent Scholar by Feminist Theory and Gender Studies section of the International Studies Association. She was a prolific author and dedicated professor with a unique interdisciplinary approach.
