Truth Be Told Documentary Festival

Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm

The Auditorium, Room A106, Alvin Johnson/J.M. Kaplan Hall 66 West 12th Street, New York, NY 10011

Over three evenings, short films made by this year's students in the New School's graduate certificate program in Documentary Media Studies are screened for the public. Media Studies faculty members Deirdre Boyle and Deanna Kamiel conduct Q&A sessions with the filmmakers following the screenings each night. These works are the product of a year of intensive study of documentary production, history, and theory.

The Documentary Media Studies certificate is awarded for successful completion of a one-year, full-time, graduate-level program of study, a unique opportunity to study documentary filmmaking in a small, intensive program in New York City, the world's documentary capital. For more information on the program and its students, faculty and events, visit

There is a public reception with the filmmakers and faculty located at Wollman Hall (5th Floor, 65 West 11th Street) following the first night of screening.
