The Jazz and Gender Series: Where Are We Now?

The Jazz and Gender Series: Where Are We Now?

School of Jazz Performance Space, Room I531, Arnhold Hall
Students

Now in its second year, the Jazz and Gender Series explores equity in music and how jazz continues to play a role in a broader cultural shift. Each session, led by members of the New School community and experts in the field, will aid in identifying and addressing inequalities in relation to gender and sexual orientation, help to frame equitable practices and explore the history of all those who have helped build and continue to shape jazz as an art form.

4:00 - 6:00 pm Discussion with student/faculty members of The New School Community, The We Have Voice Collective, The Women in Jazz Organization, and The Women and Music Collective.

Hosted by Sarah Elizabeth Charles, Gina Izzo, and Amanda Ekery

Presented by the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School.
