Composer and pianist William Linster is slated to perform his senior recital at The New School For Jazz And Contemporary Music.

His performance will consist of mostly original music, including several works written for
musicals in development for Broadway, in addition to various standards and well known pieces of
contemporary popular music. William will be accompanied by a top-notch ensemble of musicians,
including Ben Fortunato (guitar), Stjepko Zebec (bass), Scottie Madonia (drums), Ben Appel
(keyboards), Elias Ortiz (trumpet), Valerio Aleman (trombone), and AJ Bellocco (tenor sax).


William Linster is a New York based pianist, arranger and composer. Having been playing
since the age of two and performing professionally since the age of seven, William has an
extensive background in classical training, as well as in jazz and other contemporary styles.
A graduating senior at The New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music, William has studied
under some of the biggest names in the New York music scene, including Bobby Sanabria, Hank
Schocklee, Bill Kirchner, Kirk Nurock, Dave Douglas, Charlie Persip, Billy Seidman, Robert
Sadin, Gerard D’Angelo, Charles Tolliver, Cecil Bridgewater, Gene Perla, Andy Mckee, and
numerous others.

He is currently in the development stages for two major musicals for Broadway, for which he
composed the music. In addition, he's in the process of pursuing a career in film and
television scoring.

William is a trained vocalist, and received training on violin, trumpet,
clarinet, mallet percussion, concert percussion, drums and handbells.
