This event will showcase Anthony as well a group of musicians who've impacted him during his four year music career at The New School. Presenting originals and a standard in the beginning.

Los Angeles native Anthony Pearlman is a pianist, composer, and improviser currently living in New York City. He has been attending the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music for the past four years on a Presidential Scholarship and will be graduating in Spring of 2019. During his stay, Pearlman has studied under the guidance of master musicians such as Reggie Workman and Andrew Cyrille as well as studying privately with pianist Sam Harris and drummer Eric McPherson respectively. In addition to dedicating time to learning the music, Pearlman has had the privilege of performing at many well-known venues and festivals within New York and Los Angeles, as well as overseas. Some venues include: bluewhale, the Monterey Jazz Festival, The Jazz Gallery, Cornelia Street Cafe, Shapeshifter Lab, and Cleopatra’s Needle. He also recently had the privilege of performing a week at the Bern Jazz Festival, in Switzerland. With influences that range from Thelonious Monk and Ornette Coleman, to Ryuchi Sakamoto and Claude Debussy, Pearlman is quickly making a place for himself within the jazz scene of New York as a unique voice on the instrument, and, as an overall musician who can bring his personality to any musical situation regardless of genre.
