Small Things Matter: A Partnership between Parsons BFA Product Design and Areaware

Small Things Matter is a third-year Product Design studio. Parsons' BFA Product Design program partnered with the renowned design brand Areaware, challenging students to design an inexpensive "impulse buy" gift item. Students conceptually linked their designs to groups of charity organizations that will receive a portion of the profits from the sales of these items, leveraging the power of impulse consumerism to affect positive change elsewhere in the world.

All designs from the Small Things Matter studio will be on display at WantedDesign. At the opening reception for this exhibition, three winning student designs will be announced by a panel of internationally regarded design jurors.

Opening Reception: Friday, May 16, 7:00 p.m.

This event is part of Parsons Festival 2014: www.newschool.edu/parsonsfestival.
