Science+Art+Design Workshop: Painting with Biopigments

Friday, November 10, 2017 at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

University Center, 618 63 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY

Using naturally and artificially-pigmented bacteria and user-generated designs, you will create living images and patterns. These patterns will be pressed and fixed onto fabric. Printing: We will press and print our images onto fabric or paper and fix the image in place. Techniques in this workshop include Aseptic technique and antibiotic and artificial selection for microbes. Note: To see results and take home finished products, attendance at both sessions is required.

Sponsored by The Department of Natural Sciences & Mathematics, The Provost Office, and The New School's Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts.
