Parsons & Phaidon Celebrate the Launch of "Betak: Fashion Show Revolution"

Monday, November 13, 2017 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Starr Foundation Hall, Room UL102, University Center 63 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10003

Described as “the Fellini of fashion and the Cecil B. DeMille of the runways,” Alexandre de Betak has produced more than 1,000 of the fashion world’s most spectacular live shows, events, and exhibitions for global brands like Nike, Christian Dior, Victoria’s Secret, and Michael Kors.

In Betak: Fashion Show Revolution, Betak offers unprecedented access to his archives, revealing how over the course of his twenty five-year career, he has transformed the fashion show into its own bonafide art form.

To celebrate the book’s publication, Parsons and Phaidon will host a conversation with Betak and the team involved in his gorgeous debut monograph:

Sally SingerVogue creative digital director, and author of the book’s introduction.

Patrick Li, founder of the graphic design studio Li Inc., and the book's designer.

William Norwich, Commissioning Editor, Fashion and Interior Design at Phaidon.

The conversation will be followed by a book signing and reception.

This event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are strongly encouraged.

Presented by The New School's Parsons School of Design.
