Paradigms of Language and their Impact on Social Justice in the ESL Classroom

webinar--online
General Public

This webinar will introduce several major paradigms in linguistics including Linguistic Relativity, Critical Discourse Analysis, Linguistic Imperialism, Language and Identity, and Linguistic Ideologies. It will then consider what these concepts might mean for teachers of English to speakers of other languages.

Participants will be encouraged to consider how they can position themselves to promote a better understanding of social justice for themselves and their students in light of these discussions.
