New Date and Location - Conspiracy: Ryan Holiday at The Strand

Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 7:00 pm

The Strand Book Store, 828 Broadway at 12th Street, NYC, Rare Books Room, Third Floor

Author Ryan Holiday’s forthcoming book Conspiracy examines the case that rocked the media world as Peter Thiel orchestrated a nearly decade long conspiracy that culminated in the bankruptcy and closure of Gawker.  It was a process that involved Hulk Hogan, the FBI, the First and Fourth Amendments and eventually, the next President of the United States.  Join Holiday as he discusses the takedown of Gawker while answering how it was all in motion, and most importantly, what does it mean for privacy? For culture? For the future of the free press?

Due to unforseen circumstances, Peter Thiel will not be part of this event and the date and location have been revised. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Ryan Holiday is the bestselling author of Trust Me, I'm Lying; The Obstacle Is the WayEgo Is the Enemy; and other books about marketing, culture, and the human condition. His work has been translated into twenty-eight languages and has appeared everywhere from the Columbia Journalism Review to Fast Company. His company, Brass Check, has advised companies such as Google, TASER, and Complex, as well as multiplatinum musicians and some of the biggest authors in the world. He lives in Austin, Texas.

This event is presented by The Strand Bookstore in association with The New School. Due to the location change, complimentary tickets for The New School community will no longer be available.
