Litvakus: The Lost Jewish Music of Belarus

Litvakus: The Lost Jewish Music of Belarus

Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, Arnhold Hall
General Public

Zisl Slepovitch presents the five-piece klezmer collective LITVAKUS, as it roams the long-forgotten paths of East European Jewish music and Yiddish culture and recovers the lilting strains of Belarus. After a decade spent unearthing musical treasures in archives and on expeditions, Zisl Slepovitch and his bandmates have made the old sound new in their 2014 album Raysn: The Music of Jewish Belarus.
