Going to the Root: Moving and Being Present to Decolonize

Monday, April 29, 2019 at 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

See Description

Movement Lab will be hosting the workshop series, Going to the Root: Moving and Being Present, with thinker and dancer Jill Sigman. This intensive workshop series will use movement and presencing exercises to help us regain connections to plants, place, ourselves and each other. Working with ritual, perceptual awareness, dialogue, and movement we will ask questions about de-colonization and attempt to create new spaces that allow for new forms of relations to emerge. Each workshop will begin with sharing a light meal to further engage in movement exercises. On April 15th, Mindahi Bastida Munos, member of the Otomi-Toltec People of Mexico, will join us to share earth ethics from an indigenous perspective.
