‘Flow Process - Color, Light & Shadow’

Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

2 West 13th Street, Sky Room, L1201 2 West 13th Street, 10011

Speakers: Ann Linn Palm Hansen, Designer & Artist Hosts: Alfred Zollinger, Director of MFA Interior Design

Since graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven, where through drawings Ann Linn Palm Hansen attempted to physicalize human relations, she has been wanting to create an open process that encounters preferably impossible theories. To make systems, patterns, including mathematical ones and searching for an aesthetic, that not only refers to existing ideas of shape and color but creates new possibilities and alternative visions. Theories (ideas) that present different shape and color theories that she used when working in collaboration with Dutch designer Hella Jongerius in the show ”Breathing Colors” and as patterns on textiles for companies like Maharam and Kvadrat, Europe’s leading manufacturer of design textiles. The presentation will also serve as the kick-off to a 3-day workshop Ann Linn will hold, and that is open to SCE grad students by application.
