Film Showcase: Summer Filmmaking Intensive

Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Starr Foundation Hall, Room UL102, University Center 63 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10003

The School of Media Studies' summer filmmaking intensive, "Film, Art, Change: Making Movies to Make a Difference," will be showcasing the socially-engaged film projects created by students during their summer study. Students in this program are rising high school juniors and seniors.

Combining 16mm filmmaking craft with high definition (HD) digital techniques and tools, the intensive immerses students in the history and practice of making movies. Students learn to communicate through the unique language of cinema and how to leverage its power to question, provoke, educate, delight, amaze, and change. Students work collaboratively to create meaningful and artful short film projects.

Please join the students, instructors (Amir Husak and Joel Schlemowitz), and The New School community in celebrating the students' hard work and achievements.

Reception to follow.

Presented by the School of Media Studies.
