On Sunday, May 13th at 6pm, graduating senior at The New School Dore Kalmar invites the public to witness his never before heard original jazz music. The live performance will be an ensemble of eight musicians with Kalmar as the Octet’s band leader, showcasing the musician’s best collections of work. The Israel native transferred to New York for its prestigious Jazz program and has honed his sound with influence of the city. Kalmar describes his works as fitting in the Latin fusion genre with inspirations like, but not limited to, Wayne Shorter, Pat Matheny, Michel Camilo, and Dave Weckl. Dore, 27 years old of age, started playing piano at age six and began drumming at age 12. His passion and understanding for all sounds developed his music into a unique mix that will leave the audience wanting more.  So please join us in Arnold Hall located at 55 W 13th Street to enjoy a night full of fun and superb music that you won’t find anywhere else.
