Ben Portner, vibraphone | Fall '13 Ensemble & Recital Series | New School Jazz

General Public 

The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music presents student Ben Portner (vibraphone), who will be performing his senior recital.

Ben Portner is a multi-instrumentalist producer and composer specializing in vibraphone, piano, and drums. He has participated in the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and has had artist residency's in Bern Switzerland, and Amsterdam. He currently resides in St. Louis Missouri and will be commuting to New York for his Senior Recital. Ben currently works as a gigging musician and a religious school teacher.

Ben will be performing jazz standards as well as favorite songs of his on Vibraphone. He is joined by some of New School's finest including:

Matt Chalk: Alto Saxophone

Sammy Bronowski: Tenor Saxophone

Sam Neufeld: Trumpet

David James: Drums

Andrew Freedman: Piano
