Who sets the national agenda? Is it the press? A tweeting president? Social movements like Black Lives Matter or No DAPL? The powerful speeches of past leaders? The academy?
Join Joy-Ann Reid, host of AM Joy on MSNBC; Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne, Jr.; and Women’s March co-founder Vanessa Wruble for a conversation on who sets the national agenda and how to move forward during turbulent times. Reid and Dionne are co-editors of We Are the Change We Seek: The Speeches of Barack Obama. Wruble is a New School alumna, journalist, and political organizer. Moderated by Natalia Mehlman Petrzela, Assistant Professor of History at Eugene Lang College at The New School.
