Rita Breidenbach, Assistant Provost for Faculty Development

There are genuine differences among the generations and by understanding the characteristics of the generation that more and more is filling our classes, we can help students learn better (and reduce our own frustration). After an overview of the current generations, we’ll more closely examine the so-called millennial generation (or Gen Y or the Internet generation) to understand what motivates them and why and brainstorm ways of engaging them and helping them learn more effectively.
