Arnold and Sheila Aronson Galleries, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, Hallway 66 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10003

Exhibition opening Thursday, October 24, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Arnold and Sheila Aronson Galleries Hallway - 66 Fifth Avenue.

This is an exhibition of the winning proposals of the 2013 Timber in the City: Urban Habitats Competition, which challenged participants to design a mid-rise, mixed-use complex with affordable housing units, a job training/educational facility, a center for innovative manufacturing of wood technology and a distribution center in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

The entrants had to use new wood technology, drawing on its optimal performance characteristics.

The competition is co-sponsored by The School of Constructed Environments at Parsons The New School for Design, the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and the Binational Softwood Lumber Council.

Gallery open late on Thursdays until 8:00 p.m.
