As the culmination of her studies at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, vocalist Ruby Greenberg presents her senior recital.
New York City based vocalist Ruby Greenberg will perform a senior recital in celebration of graduation this Spring with degrees in jazz and sociology. This set will feature her original work and songs of her favorite musical influences. Decorated with layers of vocal harmony and intricate instrumentation, her voice and compositions mix flavors of folk, jazz, and soul. Ruby will be joined by bassist John Koozin, pianist Taylor Mackall, drummer Charlie Culbert, guitarist Prawit Siriwat, tenor saxophonist Will Brown, and vocalists Jo-B Sebastian, Bianca Muniz, and Arta Jekabsone.
Ruby is a jazz and contemporary vocalist, arranger, and songwriter. Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, Ruby moved to New York in 2013 to pursue music studies at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan. A versatile musician, her musical influences cross numerous genres and styles. Inspired by the jazz ballads of Ella Fitzgerald, and the intense, moody compositions of Joni Mitchell, Ruby also thrills to the pulse of contemporary sounds such as Amy Winehouse and Lianne La Havas.
Ruby blends folk, jazz, soul, and progressive pop, to create a unique and innovative sound that is entirely her own.
Presented by The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
