Planners Network Conference
Friday, January 24, 2014 at 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Wollman Hall, Eugene Lang College 65 West 11th Street Room B500, New York, NY 10003
The Design and Urban Ecologies program at Parson's School of Design Strategies presents the New York City chapter of the Planners Network and invites you to their public re-launch featuring a magazine of ideas for a better New York.
There will be presentations from some of the magazine’s contributors followed by a lively discussion. Afterwards, enjoy wine and cheese with New York’s finest progressive planners, community activists, and everyday New Yorkers.
The New York City chapter of the Planners Network - an association of critical urban planners and publisher of Progressive Planning Magazine - has brought together a group of planners, activists, theorists, journalists, and writers to share their visions for a better New York City.
“Opportunities for a new New York” presents proposals big and small, transformative and pragmatic. Topics include: zoning reform, vacant public land, sustainability, progressive taxation, community justice, housing, education, and more.
This is the first event among a series of 2014 events critically investigating planning in New York. The next event will be on affordable housing and Inclusionary zoning at Pratt Manhattan on February 21.
