Interaction Design and Children 2013 Conference in NYC

Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 7:30 am to 9:00 pm

Various New York, NY

Interaction Design and Children (IDC) is the international premier conference exploring new educational platforms that foster children’s creativity and engaged learning. This year’s IDC conference's mission is to further examine the global inclusion of all children as designers and makers.

Sponsored by The New School for Public Engagement, Sesame Workshop, Google, New York Hall of Science and other leaders in the field, IDC 2013 will gather key minds to investigate the way children play, learn, and live. With a mixture of hands-on design activities, workshops, research presentations, and exciting evening receptions, the conference has something for experienced academics and new learners, young and old. Events include a hands-on maker party, youth media showcase, and a special performance from Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute.

IDC 2013 will be held at The New School June 23-27 and New School students, faculty and staff can receive discounted registration.

Co-organized by The New School and Sesame Workshop
in cooperation with the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Computer Human Interaction (ACM SIGCHI).

Conference Co-Chairs: Nitin Sawhney (The New School), Emily Reardon (Sesame Workshop), and Juan Pablo Hourcade (University of Iowa).
