This event has been cancelled.

Dr. Andrew Tatarsky, director of the Center for Optimal Living, will conduct a three day workshop/training on Intergrative Harm Reducton Therapy. Dr. Tatarsky is a pioneer of the Harm Reduction Psychotherapy movement with more than 30 years teaching professionals and treating patients in the addictive behaviors field.

This training will provide both a comprehensive introduction to the basic definitions, theory, rationale and techniques of IHRT that are relevant to people along the entire spectrum of risky and addictive behavior, as well as practical tools, skills and strategies for you to apply immediately with patients in your practice.

Integrative Harm Reduction Therapy brings together harm reduction principles with the wisdom and techniques of relational psychoanalysis, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness and body-oriented traditions. It is an approach that emerged out of Dr. Tatarsky's 30 years of working in the field - treating patients, consulting with fellow practitioners, supervising and training clinicians and sharing his work through his book, Harm Reduction Psychotherapy: A New Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Problems and a series of professional papers.

Day 1 (June 21): Integrative Harm Reduction: Theory, Rationale & Overview

Day 2 (June 22): Setting the Stage for Change: Alliance, Engagement & Strategic Self-Management

Day 3 (June 23): Skills & Strategies for Healing, Growth and Change: Harm Reduction as Practice
