Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm

Mannes School of Music, Room 312 150 West 85th Street , New York, NY 10024

Explore the repertoire from the free and low cost performances offered at many of New York City’s parks, performing arts venues, and cultural institutions this summer!

Enhance your summer concert experience by learning about the pieces performed, the musicians involved, and the context and history of many kinds of music. Participants will learn and discuss strategies for active listening and discover new musical worlds alongside fellow New Yorkers.

Concerts, ensembles, and repertoire will be chosen from the following free summer series, festivals, and outdoor concerts: Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Mostly Mozart, New York Philharmonic, The Metropolitan Opera Plazacasts and Park Concerts, BRIC Arts Media/Celebrate Brooklyn, River to River, and more!
