Group Fitness: Pilates

This open-level classical Pilates mat class uses the six principles of Pilates (control, breathing, concentration, centering, precision, and breath) to stretch, tone, and strengthen the entire body, including the powerhouse (abdominals, butt, hips, and lower back). This class may include the use of props to increase body awareness, alignment, and posture and to help lose weight and tone muscles. All levels are welcome, as each participant works at his/her own level and pace. Modifications are also given for participants with chronic pain and injuries so that everyone can successfully participate in class.
Group fitness classes are only open to current New School students with valid New School ID, 2014 New School graduates, faculty, and staff.
Classes are first come, first serve. Drop-in (no reservations).
Complete waivers are due at your first summer class.
You MUST have medical insurance to participate.
