Kripalu Yoga is the yoga of compassion, loving kindness, and non-judgmental self-awareness. In this class we explore yoga postures (asanas), breath work (pranayama), and centering techniques to rebalance not only the systems of the body, but the mind and spirit as well. We take a timeout from the hustle and bustle of the outside world and tune into what’s going on inside the body. This playful gentle class serves as an inquiry into the Self and is wonderful for beginners and first timers as well. Come play!
Group fitness classes are only open to current New School students with valid New School ID, faculty, and staff.
Classes are first come, first serve. Drop-in (no reservations).
Classes are held in the University Center’s new Fitness Room (room L205 – you must use the service elevator and take it to floor L2).
Each person must complete a Fall 2015 Group Fitness Waiver and have current health insurance. Please hand in the waiver at the first class you attend each semester. We require one waiver per location (so if you taken a class at Drama or Mannes, they also will need a waiver).
