Grading and Assessing Course-level Learning with Rubrics: Workshops Series on Teaching and Pedagogy

Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Leadership Conference Room 80 Fifth Avenue, Room G802, New York, NY 10011

It is challenging to grade student work consistently, transparently, and in a time-effective manner. Using rubrics for assignments can immensely aid the grading process, as well as provide students with clarity as to expectations and a better understanding of assignment grades. Moreover, the literature has shown that students learn more and more deeply, when rubrics and their learning outcomes have been discussed with them at the start of a course.

In this workshop, faculty will learn how to construct assignment rubrics and learn how to most effectively deploy rubrics.

Facilitator: Carolyn Comiskey, Director of Assessment and Curricular Support
