D-Conflict: Design Thinking for Conflict Leadership
Monday, October 2312:00-1:30 pmConference Room 801, 66 W. 12th St.
Christian Schneider, Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Design

In design research, we use approaches that aim to unveil what people really think and really do in order to translate those insights into innovation opportunities. This workshop discusses how far this methodology is applicable to approach conflicts in a constructive way: How does challenging quantitative information with qualitative insights help to understand individual positions? How can diverse expertise of related areas contribute to include more perspectives on an argument? How can the development and visualization of a matrix that includes all unveiled perspectives help to define concepts that are inclusive and not based on compromises?
