D-Conflict: Design Thinking for Conflict Leadership
Monday, October 2312:00-1:30 pmConference Room 801, 66 W. 12th St.
Christian Schneider, Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Design

In design research, we use approaches that aim to unveil what people really think and really do in order to translate those insights into innovation opportunities. This workshop discusses how far this methodology is applicable to approach conflicts in a constructive way: How does challenging quantitative information with qualitative insights help to understand individual positions? How can diverse expertise of related areas contribute to include more perspectives on an argument? How can the development and visualization of a matrix that includes all unveiled perspectives help to define concepts that are inclusive and not based on compromises?

To register for a workshop, please contact facdevnet@newschool.edu. Please add the facdevnet calendar to your google calendar. The calendar is also available at tinyurl.com/NewSchoolFaculty. And please refer to the faculty development website at the same address for information on all areas of faculty support including teaching and learning, research and creative practice, review and reappointment and resources for part-time faculty.
