Public Programs And Events

The goal of the UN's historic COP21 conference in Paris is a finalized global climate change agreement that will drastically alter our current “business-as-usual” approach to carbon pollution.

To coincide with the conference, The New School will host a series of events at Parsons Paris and in New York City which explore issues such as social justice, urban design, waste and mediation.

Join us in Paris for a panel discussion that will focus on the role of Civil Society in addressing climate justice issues and the post-COP21 efforts necessary to ensure just and sustainable outcomes for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities.  

The panel will be moderated by Ana Baptista, Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management at the Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy.  Confirmed panelists include Ananda Lee Tan, US and Canada Regional Coordinator for Global Anti-Incinerator Alliance and Monique Verdin, Documentarian (My Louisiana Love, 2012) and member of the Indigenous Environmental Network delegation.

Note that the start time is Paris time. Livestreaming for the event will be available here. Students can come watch the livestream with others in the University Center in Room 311 at 12:30 PM EST.
