Black History in Song

Friday, March 3, 2017 at 6:00 pm

University Center, 63 Fifth Avenue, Starr Foundation Hall, room UL102

Negro spirituals evolved from plantation songs and field hollers. They are the historical record of the slave’s struggle for freedom, survival and hope. On this evening, we pay honor in song to those who came before us through Negro spirituals, gospel music, and the spoken word.
