Assistant Professor of Photography Job Talk: Em Rooney

Candidates for the Assistant Professor of Photography faculty position at Parsons will present to The New School community about their teaching philosophy, work and creative practice. These job talks are open to all and we encourage all to attend--particularly the Parsons Photo and AMT communities.

Em Rooney (b. 1983) received her BA from Hampshire College in 2005 and her MFA from Tyler School of Art in 2011. In 2012 she was a participant at Skowhegan. Recent exhibitions include group shows at  The Re Institute, Millerton, NY, Skibum McCarthur, Los Angelus, Simone Subal, New York; The Vanity Gallery, Los Angeles; Raising Cattle, Montreal. She has had solo shows at Bodega, New York; Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, Ohio; The Good Press Gallery, Glasgow; Scotland; Vox Populi, Philadelphia. She will be included in the upcoming New Photography exhibition at MoMA in 2018. Her writing has appeared in Art Papers, Performa Magazine, The St. Claire and as part of the Center for Experimental Lectures. She lives and works in New York.
